Cipher to Encipher

This week at Oakridge we found that one need not be an old spring chicken to engage in a good code breaking puzzle. The students of Grade IV, V, VI and VII also stepped up and got cracking on these puzzles. Every day, the students were introduced to new codes like Pig pen cipher, Cipher wheel, Hieroglyphics and Cuneiform.

These codes were noted down in the books provided to the children and they had to crack their head in encoding the cipher. Following this exercise the students carried out a craft activity related to the topic. They also had a great time playing scavenger hunt. Not only was the activity entertaining, but also provided a variety of learning opportunities.
